The L3S Research Center is a committed partner in the German-Italian “Rete del Gusto” (Taste Network), one of six model networks funded by the German Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space as part of the ConnActions project. Coordinated by the German-Italian Chamber of Commerce, the initiative aims to foster exchange and collaboration between German and Italian stakeholders across economic and educational sectors.
The network is dedicated to promoting sustainable binational student enterprises and strengthening bilateral cooperation in vocational education.
In 2025, L3S participated in several key events:
- May 12 – Institutional Meeting at the Italian Ministry of Education (MIM), Rome
Dr. Ivana Marenzi (L3S) represented the network in discussions on the German model of sustainable student enterprises and the creation of a binational start-up. Legal frameworks for real training companies were among the topics addressed. - June 23 – Technical Meeting at INAPP (National Institute for Public Policy Analysis), Rome
Dr. Marenzi was invited again to report on the network’s progress. The meeting focused on competencies developed through student enterprises and their future prospects in Germany and Italy. Best practices were shared among representatives from both countries. - October 2–3 – Focus Group in Pavia
School leaders, students, and institutional representatives gathered for intensive exchange and project planning. Three bilateral working groups developed pilot projects for sustainable student enterprises. Highlights included presentations of successful German models and culinary experiences at local training centers.
The project clearly demonstrates how student enterprises can serve as a bridge between education and the professional world, while fostering sustainability and innovation.
