The L3S Research Center invites applications for two positions of a
Student Assistant (m/f/d)
for a new robotics laboratory (up to 86 hours per month) to be filled as soon as possible. The positions are initially limited to 6 months. A longer-term employment also during the lecture-free period is aimed for.
Tasks
Your tasks will include supporting or collaborating in:
- Setting up the robots and the robotics laboratory
- Configuring and testing the robots
- Development of robotics demonstrations
- Creating a repository and documentation for the robotics demonstrations
Recruitment requirements
Enrollment at a German university
- Advanced Bachelor’s degree or beginning of a Master’s degree in electronics, computer science, mechanics or similar
- Very good or good knowledge of English
- Good knowledge of Linux, Python, Git
- Communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team, reliability, sense of responsibility and flexibility
- Prior knowledge of ROS is a plus

The L3S Research Center invites applications for two positions of a
Research Associate (PhD Student, m/f/d) – AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %)
to be filled as soon as possible. The positions are initially limited to two years and offer the possibility to do a PhD. The scope of the position corresponds to 100 % of the jointly agreed working hours.
Tasks
At L3S, new AI and machine learning methods are developed with a broad spectrum of applications, ranging from production and mobility to the development of digital twins. Your task will be to work independently on corresponding interdisciplinary research questions and development tasks in the context of projects in the field of AI, machine learning, or data science, to contribute to knowledge transfer and training, to work with regional businesses on applications of AI, and to publish research results at international conferences and in scientific journals.
Recruitment requirements
The prerequisite for employment is a completed scientific university degree (Master or Diploma) in computer science or from a similar field. Ideally, you will also bring in-depth knowledge in the focus areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and databases. You should have the ability and willingness to collaborate with experts from different scientific and technical disciplines as well as from industry. In addition, very good English skills and preferably also German skills, both oral and written, are expected.

Am Forschungszentrum L3S ist eine Stelle als
Studentische Hilfskraft (m/w/d) für Wissenschaftskommunikation (ca. 40 Stunden/Monat)
zu besetzen. Die ausgeschriebene Stelle ist zunächst auf sechs Monate befristet. Eine längerfristige Beschäftigung auch während der vorlesungsfreien Zeit wird angestrebt.
Das Forschungszentrum L3S entwickelt intelligente, verlässliche und verantwortungsvolle Systeme für den digitalen Wandel und erforscht die Auswirkungen der Digitalisierung. Das L3S sucht dabei den Dialog mit Politik, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft.
Aufgaben
Die Tätigkeit umfasst die Unterstützung des Kommunikationsteams
- bei der Erstellung, Bearbeitung und Verbreitung multimedialer Inhalte über unterschiedliche Kommunikationskanäle,
- bei der Organisation und Durchführung von Veranstaltungen sowie
- bei sonstigen administrativen und organisatorischen Belangen.
Einstellungsvoraussetzungen
- Immatrikulation an einer deutschen Hochschule
- fortgeschrittenes Bachelorstudium oder Beginn Masterstudium
- sehr gutes sprachliches Ausdrucksvermögen und perfekte Rechtschreibung
- sehr gute oder gute Englischkenntnisse
- sicherer Umgang mit MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), idealerweise auch mit Grafik- und Videoprogrammen
- Kenntnisse im Umgang mit CMS (z.B. WordPress)
- Kommunikations- und Organisationskompetenz
- Teamfähigkeit, Zuverlässigkeit, Verantwortungsbewusstsein und Flexibilität
Schwerbehinderte Menschen werden bei gleicher Qualifikation bevorzugt.
