Prof. Dr. Ali Ayub, Assistant Professor at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, joined the L3S Research Center in January as a recipient of the DAAD scholarship for Research Stays for University Academics and Scientists, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Hosted by Dr. Nicolás Navarro-Guerrero, Prof. Ayub will continue his research at L3S until late February.
During his stay, Prof. Ayub is advancing the research project “Multi-Modal Adaptive Object Perception and Manipulation with Haptic Feedback” in close collaboration with Dr. Navarro-Guerrero, who supported his application for the scholarship. Prof. Ayub’s research focuses on human-robot interaction and interactive machine learning, aiming to develop robots that can learn and adapt continuously to their users’ evolving environments and preferences.
His innovative work aligns with L3S’s mission to push the boundaries of interdisciplinary research in artificial intelligence, further contributing to advancements in adaptive and human-centered robotics.
