Innovative and practical solutions for production will be presented by the AI project IIP-Ecosphere at EMO 2023, the world’s leading trade fair for production technology, which will take place from September 18 to 23 at the Hannover Exhibition Center. In Hall 9 (Booth H22), IIP-Ecosphere will showcase project results from over three and a half years of intensive collaboration in research, development and application. The focus is on the IIP-Ecosphere platform. It supports the development and distributed execution of service-based AI applications in industrial production – and does so flexibly, easily and adaptably to customer requirements. In the trade fair demonstrator at EMO, the platform not only forms the basis for visual quality control with cobots but also for product identification with innovative magnetic technology. The surface quality of model cars made of metal is checked automatically. In addition, Deep Learning and federated learning methods are used to benefit from cross-site quality inspection solutions. In addition to the interaction of the platform with cobots and various edge devices, the demonstrator also shows how the components and approaches of diverse providers – from startups to large companies – can be systematically integrated to create an entire ecosystem around IIP-Ecosphere and its platform.

Other topics at the booth include IIP-Ecosphere’s four demonstrators, which have worked out model innovative AI solutions at Gildemeister Drehmaschinen, VW Nutzfahrzeuge, Sennheiser and Gerresheimer. Visitors will be able to try out an AI assistance system for machine operators.
