Prof. Dr. Alexander Nehring is a professor of science education, focusing on chemistry education at Leibniz University Hannover. He emphasizes the use of learning analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to support adaptive and inclusive learning processes in science education. His research focuses on key topics in science education, such as scientific reasoning, epistemic beliefs, and science practices. He also studies the design and advancement of inclusive science learning environments.
After holding academic appointments and conducting research at Humboldt University of Berlin and at the University of Potsdam, Alexander Nehring was appointed W1 Professor of Chemistry Education at Leibniz University Hannover in 2015 and W2 Professor of Science Education in 2018. He has been an invited scholar at the University of Geneva (Switzerland), Georgia State University (USA), the University of North Carolina (USA), and the Université du Québec à Montréal (Canada).
