Marius Lindauer at the Technik-Salon: Discussion on AI and digital sovereignty

On 11 November, L3S member Professor Marius Lindauer was a guest at the Technik-Salon in Hanover. Together with other experts, he discussed the future of digital sovereignty in Europe. Topics covered included AI regulation, copyright and access to data.

Lindauer emphasised the need to retain experts in Germany, build up computing resources, and ensure that data is made available in Europe on fair terms. He also highlighted the opportunities and challenges that Europe’s lagging behind pioneers such as the USA and China poses to science, business and society. Only through joint efforts can Europe strengthen its sovereignty and preserve its values. The event provided an opportunity for questions from the audience, sparking a lively discussion about the future direction of European digital policy.

By participating in the event, Marius Lindauer contributed to bringing current scientific perspectives into the public discourse on AI and digital self-determination.
