The digital transformation creates major challenges for the economy and society. The L3S and its partners support companies and other organizations in this transformation process in a variety of ways. The goal is to strengthen the innovative power of existing companies and to support the founding of innovative businesses through the transfer and utilization of scientific findings and solutions. The L3S thus contributes to securing competitiveness and social prosperity.

The European Digital Innovation Hub for AI and Cybersecurity (DAISEC) supports companies and the public sector in Lower Saxony in the application and development of AI technologies and Cybersecurity measures. The Hub serves as the central point of contact for the target groups, coordinates and bundles partner services, and manages the networking activities.

Its mission is to help companies, especially SMEs, and public institutions in their digital transformation. The hub aims to offer a service package that is as broad and low-threshold as possible and which enables companies and institutions to get started with and apply AI and cybersecurity technologies, regardless of their current stage of development.

KISSKI is one of four AI service centres that have been funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) since November 2022 to advance AI research in Germany and promote its broad transfer into applications. The focus of KISSKI is on medicine and energy, which are among the future fields of application-oriented AI research in Germany. Both areas represent critical and sensitive infrastructures with high demands on the use of AI methods. A central concern of KISSKI is therefore to provide small and medium-sized enterprises in particular with effective access to AI infrastructure, AI methods and AI expertise.

How can AI contribute to improving the production process in SMEs is the focus in Hanover. The following questions, among others, will be explored: What opportunities does AI offer for intelligent assistance systems? How can AI be used to better deal with the growing product variance? And for which AI-based product service systems is there a need and how can or should this be met?

ProKI is a Germany-wide demonstration and transfer network for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in production, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to further promote the application of AI among small and medium-sized enterprises. The ProKI center in Hanover focuses on the use of AI in the cutting manufacturing process. It offers companies practical testing of various AI use cases in machining as well as accompanying training and consulting services.
