CO2 Reduction and Accelerated Renovation Through AI-Driven Strategies and Renewable Energy in the Existing Residential Building Stock
The building sector faces increasing pressure to achieve climate neutrality while operating under limited financial and planning resources. CORE-KI develops AI-supported methods to accelerate the decarbonisation of residential building portfolios by combining data-driven modelling, automated completion of missing building information and intelligent portfolio analysis. The project identifies representative building archetypes and develops smart templates that provide standardised recommendations for heat pump systems, photovoltaic integration, tenant electricity models and district energy solutions. AI-based prediction models evaluate renovation measures with respect to CO₂ reduction, investment costs and economic performance, enabling the generation of optimised renovation roadmaps. By reducing planning effort and supporting evidence-based decision-making, CORE-KI enables housing companies to prioritise renovation measures and accelerate the transition towards climate-neutral building stocks.
