Prof. Dr. Christian Heinze

The aim of the project is to create an international joint doctoral programme in law, science and technology, in which science and industry work together - to train researchers at the cutting edge of technology. In particular, the focus is on the field of the so-called "Internet of Everything" (IoE), which extends the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT) not only to devices, but also to people and data. The course is not limited to engineering and computer science, but also includes a variety of different scientific and interdisciplinary approaches as well as technical, legal, economic, ethical and philosophical aspects.
The project closes a gap in the European higher education system in the fields of law, science and technology - a gap that has been closed by outstanding initiatives in the USA and Asia.
Doctoral projects are jointly monitored under a joint management structure in which both the beneficiaries and the partner organisations are actively involved. The doctoral programme will familiarise researchers with different sectors and provide them with a comprehensive set of transferable skills. The projects will improve cooperation and interaction between these disciplines, integrate non-academic partner organisations and develop interdisciplinary methods for the design, study and regulation of IoE. It will produce a generation of young researchers trained in IoE topics. Then they have the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills to start innovative companies or work in research, industry or public administration.
In order to share the newly acquired knowledge in science (law, computer science, big data analytics, cybersecurity) and in the professional world, the partners will publish articles in high-ranking scientific journals and present concepts and results at international conferences. All articles, including those that are not open access journals, will be stored in an open repository in collaboration with consortium partners.
