The research center L3S invites applications for two positions of a

Research Associate (PhD Student, m/f/d) - Machine Learning (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %)

to be filled as soon as possible. The positions are limited until December 31, 2024 depending on the project, and offers the possibility to do a PhD. The scope of the positions corresponds respectively to 100 % of the jointly agreed working hours.

Tasks

At L3S, new machine learning methods are developed with a broad spectrum of applications, ranging from production and mobility to the development of digital twins. Your task will be to work independently on corresponding interdisciplinary research questions and development tasks in the context of projects in the field of machine learning, to contribute to knowledge transfer and training, to work with regional businesses on applications of Al, and to publish research results at international conferences and in scientific journals.

Recruitment Requirements

The prerequisite for employment is a completed scientific university degree (Master or Diploma) in computer science or from a similar field. Ideally, you will also bring indepth knowledge in the focus areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and databases. You should have the ability and willingness to collaborate with experts from different scientific and technical disciplines as well as from industry. In addition, very good English skills and preferably also German skills, both oral and written, are expected.
