The research center L3S has a vacancy for a 

Research Associate (m/f/d) as Group Leader - Artificial Intelligence (salary grade 15 TV-L, 100 %) 

to be filled as soon as possible. The position is initially limited for three years, with the possibility of extension. The scope of the position corresponds to 100 % of the collectively agreed working hours.

Tasks 
In the context of new and existing research projects of the L3S and the European Digital Innovation Hub for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity (DIH4AISec), methods of AI are applied and further developed in the areas of production, mobility, and trade, among others, with a variety of different data modalities. Your task will be to work independently on corresponding research questions and subprojects together with all project partners, to develop and coordinate knowledge transfer and training measures, to communicate and cooperate with regional companies, to publish scientific results of your research, and to coordinate the projects assigned to you.

Recruitment requirements 
A prerequisite for employment is a completed scientific university degree in computer science or from a similar field as well as in-depth knowledge in the focus areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning. A completed relevant PhD is expected. You should have the ability and willingness to collaborate with experts from different scientific and technical disciplines. In addition, very good German and English language skills are required. Experience in the coordination of larger research projects is an advantage.
