Among the new members this year is Prof. Matthias Müller.
Matthias A. Müller received his Diploma in Technical Cybernetics from the University of Stuttgart in 2009 and an M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA. He received his PhD from the University of Stuttgart in 2014 and was an Academic Councillor/Superior Councillor there from 2014 to 2019. Since February 2019, he has been Professor of Control Engineering and Director of the Institute of Control Engineering at Leibniz Universität Hannover. His research interests include model predictive control, data and learning-based control methods, and nonlinear control and estimation with applications in various fields such as biomedical engineering and robotics. He has received several awards for his work, including the 2015 EECI PhD Award and an ERC Starting Grant.

In addition to Prof. Müller, we were also pleased to welcome Prof. Becker to the L3S this year.
