At the L3S research centre, three posts are available as
Science staff member (PhD and PostDoc, m/f/d) – Intelligent Search (EntgGr. 13/14 TV-L, 100 %)
to be filled as soon as possible.
The positions are initially limited to 2023 /2024 depending on the project, with the possibility to
extension, and offer the possibility of doctoral studies. The scope of the position corresponds to 100 %
of the collectively agreed working hours.
In the context of new research projects of the L3S, new methods of intelligent search support are investigated based on research in artificial intelligence (in particular machine learning), text analysis and recommendation methods. Your task will be to work independently on relevant research questions and development tasks together with all project partners and to publish scientific results of your research.
The prerequisite for employment is a completed scientific university degree (master's or diploma) in computer science or from a similar field. For a PostDoc position with higher salary level (TV-L 14) a PhD degree in computer science is required. Ideally, you will also bring in-depth knowledge in the focus areas of information retrieval, artificial intelligence and machine learning. You should have the ability and willingness to work with experts from different scientific and technical disciplines. Furthermore, a very good command of English is required; knowledge of German is also an advantage.
