The L3S research centre has a vacancy for a

Science! staff member (m/f/d) - Artificial Intelligence (EntgGr. 14 TV-L, 100 ü/o)

to be filled at the earliest possible date. The position is initially limited for two years, with the possibility of extension. The scope of the position corresponds to 100 °10 of the collectively agreed working hours.

Tasks
In the context of new research projects of the L3S, methods of artificial intelligence and in particular machine learning will be applied and further developed in the fields of medicine, education and biodiversity, among others, with clinical and genomic data, as well as text and social media data. Your task will be to work independently on relevant research questions and subprojects together with all project partners, to develop open source software and to publish scientific results of your research, as well as project coordination of the
1 projects assigned to them.

Employment requirements
The prerequisite for employment is a completed scientific university degree in computer science or from a similar field and in-depth knowledge in the focus areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning. A completed relevant doctorate is expected. You should have the ability and willingness to collaborate with experts from different scientific and technical disciplines. In addition, a very good command of English is required; a good knowledge of German is an advantage.
