Wagner 3.0 aims to investigate whether Richard Wagner’s ideal of an embedded listening situation – formulated in his writings from 1873 and fully realised in the Bayreuth Festival Theatre in 1876 – can be recreated through\n a virtual sound environment. The project will evaluate different upmixing methods from stereo to surround sound and 3D audio and analyse the impact of different sound environments on aesthetic judgments. Psychological inventories\n and electrophysiological measures will be used to assess the emotional effects of immersive sound environments, and virtual orchestra recordings will be combined with selected virtual concert halls and stages to determine\n the subjective experience and level of sound immersion. The listening experiments will be conducted at the Immersive Media Lab of the Institute for Communication Technology at the Leibniz University Hannover.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
