Helge Holzmann

Helge Holzmann has been a PhD candidate and worked as a researcher at the L3S Research Center in Hanover, Germany since 2013. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany in 2011 and 2013, both as best graduate of his years. During the time at L3S he has been involved in two EU projects, first ARCOMEM and currently ALEXANDRIA, an ERC Advanced Grant by Prof. Wolfgang Nejdl. In addition, he is working in the project FID Math, funded by the German Research Council, with the goal of creating amathematical information service infrastructure. His work in these projects has resulted in publications at different conferences and journals, including TPDL, ACM/IEEE JCDL, ACM SIGIR, ACM WWW as well as the International Journal on Digital Libraries. Helge's main research interest is in the field of Web archives with a focus on search, access and analysis. In this context, the intense use of big data analysis techniques are part of his daily work. In addition to his research activities, he assisted a course on IR, gave lectures in the area of Temporal IR and Data Mining and has been supervising students on different topics related to his research.


ArchiveSpark is a Spark framework that I have been developing in collaboration with Vinay Goel from the Internet Archive to facilitate access to Web Archives in an efficient way.
