The L3S Research Center, Hannover, Germany, invites applications for a position in an international research project in the context of the Open Course Ware platform SlideWiki (http://slidewiki.org):

Research Engineer (E 13 TV-L, 100%)

The Research Associate will be a member of the Data Science Research Group (Prof. Dr. Sören Auer) in the Joint-Lab between L3S and the TIB Research and Development Department. Initial appointment will be for 3 years, starting as soon as possible.

The candidate’s competence area should be squarely rooted in computer science or a related field, she should be able to think creatively, grasp new knowledge quickly, be able to combine abstract reasoning with concrete problem solving and be interested in mastering complex challenges.

Tasks:

  • Development of software for the open course ware platform SlideWiki
  • Test and documentation of the developed software components
  • Provision of the project results as Open Source
  • Contact person for project partners in technical matters

Requirements:

  • A Master degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Science)
  • Excellent proficiency in modern programming languages and modern software engineering methodologies, proven team software development skills.
  • Good / very good knowledge in JavaScript/React.js/Node.js and MongoDB
  • Above-average commitment, solution-oriented approach, initiative and team spirit
  • Strong knowledge of user interaction and semantic technologies is a plus
  • Independent and structured way of working
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and German
