Adaptive Hypermedia 2008

Adaptive Hypermedia 2008

I am the Local Chair of the 5th International Conference on Adaptive Hypermedia and Adaptive Web-Based Systems. This conference will take place from July 28 until August 1, 2008 in Hannover. The conference invites submissions in the fields of Adaptive Hypermedia systems and techniques, Web personalization, adaptive information filtering and retrieval, intelligent tutoring systems, semantic Web, applications of adaptive hypermedia and empirical studies of AH and Web systems.

Even though it will definitely be a lot of work, it will definitely be a lot of fun as well. I have been involved in the community for quite a while and I am thrilled to get this fantastic bunch of researcher to 'my place'.

You are highly encouraged to visit the AH2008 Website.

ABIS Workgroup

Since October 2007, I am the chair of the ABIS Workgroup. ABIS stands for 'Adaptivität und Benutzermodellierung in interaktiven Softwaresystemen' (Adaptivity and User Modeling in Interactive Software Systems). In fact, ABIS is the highly active German part of the Adaptive Hypermedia and User Modeling Community. Our annual event is the ABIS workshop, which provides a platform for presenting ongoing research and to discuss great ideas. Once an all-German workshop, it currently attracts young researchers from all over Europe.

For more information, visit the ABIS Website (yet another site that I will need to update soon).

European Association for Technology-Enhanced Learning

Since May 2007 I am secretary and co-founder of the European Association for Technology-Enhanced Learning (EATEL).
