The L3S Research Center, Hannover, Germany, invites applications for a fully funded Ph.D. research position as a

Research Assistant

(EntgGr. / salary group 13 TV-L, full-time)

The position is initially limited.

Responsibilities and duties

Your research will focus on the following topics:

• Semantic Web Reasoning
• Database technology
• Stream processing,

and you should possess good knowledge in at least one or several of these research fields.

Employment conditions

We expect an outstanding M.Sc. or Diploma in Computer science or related subjects, as well as good proficiency in English. German language skills are useful, but not mandatory. International experience during your studies, as well as good social and communication skills are helpful. The following criteria are desirable:

• Good implementation skills in declarative and imperative programming paradigms
• Interest in databases and location-based information systems
• Interest in semantic technologies, stream reasoning, and security
• Experience in scientific publishing

Your work will be carried out together with a team of excellent computer scientists in a challenging and unique research environment. Tasks include research project work as well as scientific publishing.
