In its constituent meeting, the new Research Council of the Austrian Bundesland Carinthia elected L3S Director Prof. Wolfgang Nejdl as Chairman. In November 2018, the state announced that it would establish a Research Council to advise Carinthia on research, technology and innovation policy. On the basis of the goals of the EU and the national goals, the Council is to make a contribution to strengthening Carinthia as a research and business location by means of its recommendations.
